Vennikulam Salem Marthoma Church --- Sevika Sangam

A branch of sevika sangam which was launched at the maramon Manalpurram at 1919 got going during the initial stages of our parish. A few ladies were summoned up under the leadership of Rahel Amma. Ladies were encouraged to take active participation in parish life after the visitsof Cheruthuruthil Kandamma Varghese, Travelling Secretary of Sevika Sangam and other inspired ladies. These days, the sevika sangam of vennikulam parish is one of the most lively fellowships in the area. Today, the women-folk who were in the back row, have natured with time and take the lead in scripture reading and sermonizing. The sevika Sangam take active part in Centre/diocese activities and arranges fasting prayers in the church on Fridays, other than conducting prayer meeting in different parts of the parish, on a weekly basis. Sevika sangam has performed laudable service in expanding the wealth resources of the parish by organizing fund mobilization drives, the sevika sangam now functions marvelously participating in charitable activities and by visiting the sick and the aged.
